Per the Washington State Mandate, a mask shall be worn in all SMI meeting spaces regardless of vaccination status, and public areas outdoors when social distancing is not possible, except for when actively eating and drinking.

If you feel ill or have flu-like symptoms once at the conference, please stay in your room and call or email SMI staff to inform them.

If you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after the conference, please contact the SMI office. SMI will contact the hotel and attendees for purposes of contact tracing and not divulge any personal information.

SMI will be guided by and continues to monitor hotel guidelines, governing authorities, and/or the CDC, with any changes to the safety plan communicated proactively to all registered attendees.

Waiver/Attestation Requirement:

I attest that I have met one of the following requirements to attend SMI’s biannual meeting, the International Congress for Mucosal Immunology, July 2022 at the Seattle Grand in Seattle, Washington, USA. Please check one.

  • I am/will be fully vaccinated by a WHO and/or US FDA approved COVID-19 vaccine
  • I will be tested within 72 hours in advance of arriving at the meeting, and will only continue on to the meeting once receiving a negative test result for COVID-19. The test will be a viral test that is conducted on a specimen collected from me.

I also agree to abide by the above safety plan, and the protocols of the hotel, CDC and other governing authorities as well as any modifications to the safety plan to be communicated as needed for the duration of my stay.

I understand that SMI has taken measures to reduce the spread of communicable disease, including COVID-19 at its conference. I acknowledge that SMI cannot guarantee that I won’t become exposed to or sick from a communicable disease at the annual conference and that attending the conference could increase my risk of contracting a communicable disease.

I further understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by a communicable disease at the conference may result from the actions, omissions or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, SMI, its officers, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, sponsors, other participants, and any owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the annual conference (“Releasees”).

In consideration of being allowed to participate in the annual conference, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin confirm that I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, BOTH KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, and assume full responsibility for my participation in the conference and release, covenant not to sue, discharge and hold harmless the Releasees.
