Mucosal immunology is a field with progressively broadening interests as we become increasingly aware of the importance of the mucosal interface between the resident microbiota and the immune system in health and disease, in addition to the mucosa being the major site for human infections. The Society for Mucosal Immunology unites fundamental researchers and clinician scientists studying mucosal immunology, and the International Congress of Mucosal Immunology is our premier meeting held every two years.
